How Credit Unions Help Out the Community

Our credit union plays a vital role in helping our community grow. Different than banks, which are formed on the idea of turning profits, our credit union is built on the “people helping people” philosophy. The better you understand how our credit union helps our community, the greater the odds are that you and your family will gain more from your membership. These are just a few ways our credit union helps our communities and our members.

Credit Unions Return Profits to Members

Not in the form of direct cash payments, perhaps, but as not-for-profit entities, our credit union is able to do the following, which return the profits to our members who make up our credit union community:

  • Charge lower and fewer fees
  • Pay higher dividends on savings accounts
  • Offer lower rates on loans

In one way or another, the profits are returned to our membership ― which helps all our credit union members enjoy greater rewards from their association.

Credit Unions Work with Our Members Going through Hardships

When disaster strikes, our credit union ramps up action quickly by offering special programs to assist you during these hard times. Our credit union can act much faster than large banks and can provide greater flexibility – often on a case by case basis to offer unique solutions for all members like you.

Things like tornadoes, hurricanes, wildfires, and pandemics can place communities at great hardship. Our credit union is there to help communities pick up the pieces and rebuild in their aftermath – by granting loan modifications and taking other actions to make it happen.

Credit Unions Educate Members

Our credit union offers one-on-one financial counseling to our members. It’s part of our initiative to help each and every one of our members achieve financial wellness. We understand that your success helps to make you and our community more successful in the long run. That’s why we invest in you, your education, and the services we make available to you to help accomplish those goals.

Credit Unions Advocate for Small Businesses

It’s the small businesses that are the backbone of many communities. These are the businesses that sponsor little league teams, give back to the community, and make things happen for the people who call it home. Our credit union understand this, so we work to court small businesses and keep them in business, even during times of hardship.

Credit Unions Give Back to Local Communities

By sponsoring various community initiatives and projects to working with local schools to provide financial education to students, our credit union is dedicated to helping build stronger communities at every turn. It’s another way we “give back.” — one we take seriously.
